While directly landing on an American movie isn’t as easy as it sounds, TV shows and series provide an entry ticket to the Tinsel Town. Here are some of our celebrated personalities e didn’t know debuted in TV shows.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Still the most eligible bachelor at 45, did you know that young Leo first appeared on the TV show The New Lassie? Yes, the Oscar winner made his debut in the year 1989 before entering films. Di Caprio went on to act in a number of commercials too. While Titanic was the Revenant star’s biggest breakthrough, Critters was his first ever full-length Hollywood flick.

Zac Efron

Though currently a popular celebrity in the Tinsel Town, Zac will forever be remembered as the ‘High School Musical’ heartthrob. But, what many of us are not aware of is that the 32-year old actor and singer played a guest role in the TV show Firefly in the year 2002 even before High School Musical. As far as movies are concerned, Baywatch, The Lucky One, and The Greatest Showman are some of the actor’s note-worthy works in Hollywood.

Our very own Rachel from FRIENDS is as gorgeous as her first-ever appearance in Molloy, an American sitcom that was telecasted in the year 1990. A dream-come-true launch for any actor, Ashton Kutcher first starred in That ’70s Show. This American TV program that aired on Fox ran for 8 seasons and is still one of the most watched series on streaming platforms like Netflix. After ending his marriage with ex-wife Demi Moore in 2013, the 43-year old actor went on to marry his former co-star Mila Kunis.

Jim Carrey

Well, the Mask actor is someone who redefined slapstick comedy. Jim Carrey’s role in the American TV series In Living Color introduced him to the world of Hollywood. His hyper comic sense bought him movies like The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, and Liar Liar in the ’90s. The 58-year old actor has bagged 2 Golden Globe Awards for his performances in The Truman Show, and Man on the Moon.
